Opatija: the pearl of the Adriatic!

Opatija, sometimes referred to as the Nice of the Adriatic, is a town in Croatia situated 90 km from Triestre on the Gulf of Kvarner in the Istrian Peninsula. The magic of this region has transformed this riviera into a resort providing a natural and healthy environment, with century-old traditions, the beauty of the camellia in bloom and the whiff of bay leaves. Winters are pleasant in this magnificent environment and summers are never to be forgotten, as there are concerts, festivals, regattas and crazy carnivals for people to enjoy.

In addition to the great variety of gastronomic food on offer, this area also provides top-class accommodation in fashionable hotels or romantic villa rentals from la belle époque. The town became a fashionable destination for the Austrian imperial family and Austrian nobility in the 19th century, but soon luxury hotels and elegant villas started to be built, giving the town a name. One can either go strolling along the winding streets, where one can find shops and restaurants, or stroll along the seaside promenade, where there are cafes with sea views, marinas and many parks.

With modern highways, it is now possible to reach Opatija in just three hours if coming from a neighboring country, where one can immediately have access to fresh seafood.
