Desamparados train station and the road to heaven!
Desamparados Train Station in Lima is the starting point for a train trip to the city of Huancayo. The journey covers a distance of 332 kilometers and goes over 61 bridges and 65 tunnels. The train negotiates the climbs by doing swithbacks. One is able to see snowed mountain peeks and rivers, as well as beautiful scenery and mountain villages. It is also possible to see typical Andean animals, like llamas and alpacas grazing.
